Roxie came to us from Rob Tomczak of Shiloh Kennels in Elk Mound, WI. Ruth and Rob picked her out as I had come down with food poisoning and was stuck in the hotel room. But as it turned out she’s exactly what I wanted! Flashy, spunky, intelligent and boy does she have a set of wheels!

Roxie started running puppy stakes at one of the last field trials in the spring 2006 field trial season. Her first trial earned her a 4th place in puppy, but her range and independence had me floored. We spent the entire summer conditioning, working birds and just having fun. Of course anyone that’s run bitches knows its hard to campaign them due to their heat cycle. Going into the start of the fall season Roxie came in season.

We lost most of September to her being in season and finally got to run her in October just weeks before the VCA Nationals. Her first fall trial out earned her a 1st amateur puppy, 2nd open derby, and 3rd open puppy at the Vizsla Club of Eastern Iowa. After that it was first or nothing for her!

We were lucky enough to be able to attend the Vizsla Club of America Nationals at Wye Island, MD in October of 2006. Roxie’s derby run was a strong forward race with three solid finds. We received a ton of compliments from the gallery and fellow handlers. In the National Open Puppy Roxie took the win with another strong forward run and beautiful handling.  She’s got all the makings of a high class bird dog and we couldn’t be happier.

We continue to work with Roxie to prepare her for shooting and gun dog stakes. If all goes well, as we expect it to, you'll find her to the front standing a covey or in the winners circle.
